Koh Chang Bars

There are many bars on Koh Chang. One thing to look out for are the bars where the tables are low and customers lie around on Thai Axe Cushions. I really don't know what gives with Koh Chang (and some other islands) about this - I assume the bar owners are trying to convince visitors that this is somehow "real Thailand" which of course it is not. Having lived in Thailand almost all my life, I have never seen a Thai bar with these ridiculous, and uncomfortable, items. That said they can be fun and if the gullible backpackers want to believe it then who am I to argue. Give me a good old fashioned (Thai??) plastic chair or a bar stool any day!
